Spider Removal

Spider Removal

Spiders are everywhere. Try as you might to avoid them, there is just no getting away from these arachnids. It is not unusual to wipe up a cobweb here or there or squish the odd spider but when more and more pop up, you’ve got an issue. Spiders spread their numbers by the hundreds, so taking back control as quickly as possible is vital to getting results. Instead of tackling these animals one by one, our experts perform a clean sweep and remove attractants that could keep them coming back.

Spider TREATMENT

There are many reasons for spider removal  in Canada, the most obvious being that spiders can be frightening to those with phobias, and their webs are unappealing! Canada has a uniquely natural landscape, with varying terrains from coast to coast. With such diverse ecosystems, insect life is able to thrive, making feasts for the spider populations. Some spiders are web builders, building webs in order to catch their prey, while others are more patient. Some spider populations will stake out their prey, laying in wait for the perfect moment to capture and devour them. Finally, hunters will go out in search for food. When it comes to spider removal in Canada, it is important to know your enemy before tackling a defensive position.

Like many other insects, spiders are hitchhikers, entering homes on the backs of outdoor items or entering homes through cracks and gaps in homes or through opened doors or windows.

Although arachnids are an important part of the natural landscape – no one wants these unwelcome visitors inside their homes. The majority of spiders in Canada are harmless to humans and may only bite if they feel threatened or somehow become trapped against skin.

Spiders are common, but there are a few that should not be taken lightly here in Canada:

    Brown Recluse:

  • light brown in color.
  • ½” in length
  • has a violin-shaped marking on the mid-section
  • has 3 Pairs of eyes totalling 6, most spiders have 8
  • usually you would not feel the bite but severe pain will
  • the bite will develop a white blister and enlarge to the size of a toonie as the venom attacks the surrounding area
  • If you are bitten, call 911 or your local hospital immediately.

Black Widow:

  • has a round, shiny black abdomen with red markings that looks like a red hourglass underneath
  • Dimensions are about ½” wide and 1 ½” long.
  • live under rocks and under fallen trees, firewood piles, basements, crawlspaces, garages and sheds throughout areas of Canada
  • venom is a neurotoxin that attacks the nervous system
  • bites are not often felt, the pain develops immediately
  • signs after being bit by a black widow are an increase in body temperature, sweating, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and pain and swelling around the bite
  • bites are rarely fatal when treated quickly
  • If you are bitten, call 911 or your local hospital immediately.

Spider Removal In Canada

Spider removal in Canadian homes and businesses seems to be almost year round, but the spring and summer are by far the busiest time.  Our Spider Treatments are a 2 step service process. Elimination and Prevention.

Elimination:  A thorough treatment to the home or business is done. This eliminates the spiders themselves as well as their food source, crawling insects. As attics and crawlspaces are a favourite hiding place for all types of spiders, treatment in these areas is essential.

Prevention:  Most areas of the home will be “de-webbed” using our extended web removal tools. Monitoring boards may also be in play for areas of high spider activity. We want to make it as unpleasant as possible for new spiders trying to make your home their home.

If you have any type of Spider infestation, give Toodaloo Pest and Wildlife Control a call at 1-844-TOODALOO to ensure your property is “Spider Free”.
